COVID-19 Precautions and Service Updates

If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention as per Public Health and Government of Canada Guidelines.

Please call us at 613-690-6371 if you have questions about our policies and practices.

CURRENT UPDATE: March 9th 2022

We are looking forward to a reasonable reduction in COVID-19 protection measures as announced by the Ontario Government. We will communicate any changes to our current measures when we receive more details, and as we assess the needs of staff and clients.

At this time we will continue to use masks and our HEPA air filter systems, and ask clients and staff to stay home if ill. As always, we follow best practice for cleaning and hygiene. Virtual meetings / sessions will still be offered to those requesting them (except when in-person sessions are required / indicated by service type and needs).

UPDATED January 14th 2022

We continue to follow public health guidelines regarding layers of COVID protection: pre-screening and monitoring for symptoms, masking, maintaining distance when possible, use of HEPA filters in each area of our offices, and sanitation practices. We have a staff vaccination policy in place. We limit the number of people on-site at any given time.

We ask that people visiting our office wear medical masks rather than single cloth masks. We can provide one if needed. Mask exemptions will be respected. Online versus in-person appointments are encouraged when online service could meet needs.

UPDATED April 8th 2021

COVID-19 Updates: The Ontario Government’s order ‘provincial emergency’ under s 7.0.1 (1) of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMPCA), which takes effect at 12:01 April 8th 2021: Regulated mental health professionals can continue to operate. Services will continue to be offered with adherence to strict public health guidelines. Virtual services are strongly recommended when possible. UPDATED April 1st 2020

Your family's health and wellness are important, so a balance between compliance with public health recommendations and a duty of care to clients matters.

  • Intervention (counselling) sessions continue/are available through video- or telephone-conferencing rather than face-to-face sessions. Some services for virtual brief assessment may also be available. Face-to-face brief sessions may be possible in some very limited circumstances.  Delivery method will be discussed over the phone.

    • For current clients:  Postponing sessions until later dates is also feasible should you wish, with no fees-penalty for cancellation/change.

  • Assessment services are postponed until further notice but clients can book dates into the future (May 2020 or later). If circumstances change, those dates may change.

    • For current clients:  If you are waiting for reports and feedback you have been or will be contacted about arranging telephone feedbacks.

Reminders

  • Cleaning and hygiene protocols are strictly enforced.  Surfaces and objects are sanitized between each client.
